Also, if you are looking for an Intellivision Admin, I am fairly knowledgeable on the Inty and would be happy to help smiley

Hi mate

Ninja Odyssey for Intellivision has been added already. There are 2 different versions of this cartridge , 1 with fire shooting ghosts and 1 without (which is much easier).

As the WR score soon to be approved is for the Non fire shooting ghost version, would you be able to add the other version please? Maybe call it  Ninja Odyssey (Fire Breathing Ghosts)

Iv'e added it to the requested games ID number 28760.

Thanks

@S.BAZ:

That makes sense.

Oh, there's a huge backlog of game requests still waiting to be processed. The ones that I care about most are homebrews that I own for the 2600. Mappy, Space Game, and Super Cobra Arcade. My phone is kind of getting to be a mess what with all of the photos for these games. I could import them into my PC, but then I'd eventually loose track of them.

Do you know who the Administrator is for the Atari 2600? I have quite a few requests that still need to be processed.

@Mark:

Yeah, there are a number of Atari games entered with both A and B settings, even though the game doesn't use them, or it's irrelevant to game play (such as turning the music off and on).

At the beginning when tons of 2600 games were getting added, Serious decided at some point to start adding all of them with both categories, even if the manual says the switches aren't used.  This was due to some people finding differences in the code of a few games, showing that for some games the switches actually DO make a difference even though the manual says they don't.  He said if it can be proven later on that the switches do nothing, then the charts can be consolidated later, no harm done.  Whereas if all scores were listed together on the same chart, and THEN it's found the switches matter, it would be a mess to sort out.

So unfortunately we have some redundant 2600 charts.

In relation to the Atari 2600 game Gas Hog I think the Expert/A difficulty might be a mistake. I played it through emulation and there didn't seem to be any difference between it and a game played in Novice/b. I checked the manual scan at Atari Mania and it makes no mention of the difficulty switches at all.

Several Atari Age releases that I've submitted requests for are awaiting processing.

*Denotes a game I've ordered   **Denotes a game I own

Alligator People (Atari 2600)**
Mappy (Atari 2600)*
Piñata: Heart Break (Atari 2600)**
Piñata: Ping (Atari 2600)**

Space Game (Atari 2600)**
Super Cobra Arcade (Atari 2600)*

Piñata somehow got into the system here as Piñata. This is a 5 game multi-cart that I bought from Atari Age several years ago, but has since been discontinued. I believe due to a C&D order forcing them to remove it. I have no idea how many copies are floating around, but I have one and I found a play video on Youtube.

Oh, the latest news. Someone mentioned to me at Atari Age that there is such a thing as a paid subscriber. I'm now an annual paid subscriber ($30). I wish that I had known about this sooner, as it entitles me to (amoung other things) 5% off all Atari Age Store purchases. The past month only I've averaged spending $80 each week there. I could have saved quite abit of money

@S.BAZ: I have the Colecovision Flashback, can I add scores in emulated category?

@S.BAZ: Thanks, S.Baz! This helps a lot and I agree: all emulation will be somewhat different from the original and from each type of emulation. To have charts for each Flashback device wouldn't make much sense (most times games are the same as on predecessor consoles just additional ones are added). I will start submitting under emulated soon and I'll let Omar know too!

@RetroRob:

Hi!  The original Flashback contains games that play differently since they are not emulated, but completely rewritten.  They closely resemble the originals enough that someone who hadn't played Atari for 25+ years might not notice the difference.

Scores achieved using any of the other Atari Flashbacks can be submitjted under (Emulated), since those devices simply emulate.

This is the reason for why I've mostly stopped adding charts for those platforms as well as for other emulation devices, so as to avoid bloating the site with excessive amounts of redundant charts for the the same game emulated.  Imagine what a mess we'd have if we had a separate chart for each different emulator -- for each and every individual game!

But if you know of any reason why we should make an exception please don't hesitate to request it, or message me about it.  (see the examples below)

In general I'm doing the same for all emulators and emulation devices, including Yobos, Retrons, Famiclones, Virtual Console, etc., and also for Arcade multi-boards like Pandora's Box, so that emulated scores for each game can all be ranked on the same chart.

Also the same for various differing releases of the same hardware such as the Neo Geo AES, which contains the same hardware as the MVS arcade board.

Current Reasons for Exceptions:

If a Flashback or other device contains a game exclusively found on that device.

If the game plays differently for some reason unique to a specific device (for example, I think one of the Flashbacks doesn't support paddle controllers and Breakout must be played with a joystick).

... (otyher exceptions ?)

A number of such duplicate charts have already been added and have scores posted.  Unfortunately, I and other admins have no means of doing anything about it, so for now we have redundant charts for some emulated games.  I hope that in the future they will get consolidated under (Emuated) or in cases like the AES, under (Arcade) and (Arcade Emulated/MAME).

As far as the Flashback 3 charts that got added and aren't turning up in the search, I don't know but I may have added them by mistake.  Or perhaps another admin did, although I'm not aware of any other admins handling Flashback requests lately.

Hope that helps!

Sorry to come to you for this, but I have a backlog of requests again. If I remember correctly toy handle PC requests.  I don't know who handles the other systems involved. My requests:

Atari 2600: 46
Linux: 16
MAC OSX: 16
PC: 129
PSP: 17

Total Requests: 224

Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.

I have a few submissions that arn't on the system yet. Star Strike for intellivision has been pending for a while now if you get a chance please.

Level 4 is already on but level 1 2 3 5 and 6 are missing for Intellilivision plus Flashback plus Emulated.

Thanks smiley

Hi S.Baz, a couple of weeks ago a series of game requests were completed for the Atari Flashback 3 console (maybe you're in charge as admin here?). Omar and I were eager to submit some scores for this platform (Battlezone is already on there). Now we realised that my completed requests are not available (advanced search for games without scores shows no results). Now I browsed the forums and realised that this happened with some other game requests before and it was possible to fix it somehow. So far I didn't submit under emulated because research on atariage.com revealed that the Flashback is quite different from other emulation systems with different gameplay too. Any chance this can be looked into please?

Whoever is responsible for processing Atari 2600 game requests has some new ones to process in addition to the backlog of requests that I'm still waiting on. "Mappy," and "Space Game." I've ordered both, and would like to post some scores once they arrive. Both games have 3 Difficulties.

Oh, and Zaccaria Pinball has released another table on Steam. "Clown 2019." This is a remake table. They have stopped releasing new Retro tables. I've submitted requests for it for both 3 and 5 Balls. Oh, and Malzbies Pinball Collection will be releasing the 8th table on Steam in a few days. I'll request it once it's released and I own it. :)
