@Buttons: yeah for sure. whats funny is that when I played it I wasnt intending on going for a high score. initially I was just going to test it out to make sure it worked and I got sucked in. in a way i almost prefer this to Tetris. maybe its the music hehe

Its a hard game. Not being able to shoot straight ahead while moving forward is tough. Its fun though

I had 30 seconds to run and grab my camera while my initials were still on the screen, so needless to say, I didnt make it in time. If there was a seperate screen that listed high scores, I wasnt aware of it

Couldnt figure out how to eliminate the bloom on the letters so theyd be more legible

@MashPotatoTower: Its not the hardest game Ive played but what makes beating it hard is the fact that it takes so long to get back to the track you were struggling with to begin with to memorize all the turns. Very fun game but I just dont have the patience to keep playing through the levels

Played at 2DCon in Minneapolis. Its very difficult to document a proper score by yourself because the score disappears quickly and theres no screen that has high scores with initials on it. Your best bet is to have someone videotaping you playing it and then zoom in on the high score.

There's a way to easily farm points on level 8 and max out the score but I didn't do that because it takes away from the spirit of the score chasing.

It's really faint but my username is below the TV and to the right.

Not a very good game. I died at the second boss fight. It sends you back 8 or 9 levels if you run out of lives and I just didn't feel like torturing myself any further.

I know on some of these Namco collections, one can change the settings of the game to make it so he gains an extra life at different score intervals. I would want to see a video of the high score before I gave a yes vote, especially because I can't see if a Game Genie was inserted or not.

How do we know if this was played on default settings or not

I wouldn't get too hung up one idiot voting no just for kicks. 99% of people here vote with their heart, so as long as you're providing sufficient evidence, there's nothing to worry about.

Yes, and I also want to say I like that you record the TV screen rather than run capture software. It gives a much more authentic presentation.

I can only speak for the Genesis version, but it seems there are more points per units of distance than each preceding difficulty level. Your top speed is also greater with each increase in difficulty level, Hyper being the highest.

man what a crappy game. I tried setting a high score- much lower than yours. I might have to go back and try it again

thanks, Derek. I'm new to the site and I didn't realize I needed more than just my initials in the in-game high score chart as proof. I might just put a big sign up on the wall with "gbpxl" on it :-)
