I don't think special categories existed for the Flashbacks, when I posted my scores. They were added later.
My wife is glad I broke my target of 180k and posted this score, as she doesn't have to listen to this game over and over again! I should have gone well over 200k but I choked and lost all 3 lives in rapid succession right around 190k.
Oh the memories! Fun little shooter this one.
I was playing this for the first time the other day with my daughter and we took about 10 minutes to figure out just what we were supposed to do :-) I've got it now though. Fun little simple game.
I've had plenty of 17k - 19k scores lately, on the road to finally breaking 20k!
Played on Flashback 3 which counts under emulation (unless that's changed in the last 6 months). I was about to post a 201 but saw the top score was 209 so I went back and managed to get 211.
Just playing some random games with my daughter tonight and had a decent game. That's why I'm player two
Haha nice! ... Game on! ...
I'm still distracted by board gaming and my PS3 but I will stay active on here if I can.
Do you want to repost this as 38,700?
That may well be right, I had to have it shipped over and I bought a plug adapter for it too :-)
Yes these are screenshots; I meant I can't take a photo with my initials on a piece of paper :-) I see you beat my score -- challenge accepted!
I'll play my consoles and flashbacks but using the keyboard for emulators on the laptop annoys me :-)
I loved this game instantly the first time I played it (which was yesterday). It's intense! Thanks for the vote btw.
I never want to play this again ...
Great action game this one!
^ Since you haven't answered that question, I'll have to Skip these scores because I'm wondering the same thing.
Revenge mode activated!!
Ahhh.... I'm not sure why he should have to get the score in just 1 life; that seems awfully arbitrary to me.
Unfortunately though, I'm still voting No on this one due to the fact that I abhor point farming scores. Just my opinion though.
I shouldn't say it "ruins the game" -- that's obviously nonsense. What I meant was if I see a top River Raid score of 999,999 because somebody found a farming technique, I won't bother playing it. But if the top score was 200,000 and set by "normal" play, I would still feel motivated to get better at the game. (Again just IMHO)
Akito you make some pretty convincing points! I was going to vote no but I'll just skip this score I think. To me, point farming is not in the spirit of the game so shouldn't be acceptable. Also it ruins that game for future people who come along and want to play through the game, master it, and post a high score -- where's the motivation when somebody has found a way to farm and/or exploit and has already posted a massive score? IMO anyway.
But it's really a personal perspective thing, there is no right or wrong viewpoint
Looks like Shao Khan in the top left :)
Thanks but I can't justify the cost with already having multiple consoles that I barely play these days ... I'll look at paddles for the Flashback down the track though, thanks for the Gemini tip
Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it. For what it's worth I agree with you -- if I had access to a real 2600 and plenty of games, I would probably never touch the Flashback! But unfortunately for me it's literally the only option.
Although certainly the Flashbacks are not emulating at 100% accuracy - that's pretty obvious - I would still maintain that they fit under emulation category. The not-perfect emulation is offset by the fact that somebody using a Flashback is sitting in front of a TV and using a replica Atari joystick (the same way as playing, you know, a real 2600!). For me, that's more accurate than the whole sitting at a PC using a keyboard/mouse to play Stella thing.
For example the scores I set in Frogger games on Stella are way higher than I could have achieved using a joystick - because the arrow keys are perfect for this game. So you could argue that playing Stella with a keyboard needs it's own category - where will it end?
Maybe somebody else could chime in with their opinions anyway. Cheers!
(PS I don't have access to paddles so all paddle games are unplayable for me )
Haha good eyes my friend :)
I can pay $3 for 10, or go and get Duracell for $15 for 10 or something crazy! IKEA FTW.
Nope, no Gamecube unfortunately!
I can score much higher but it was such a PAIN trying to play this ... Not having a backlit screen is a big problem for me. So I thought I'd throw up this score in case I never touch the GBA again.
Sorry about the poor photos. I will get closer in future!
I couldn't take a photo with my iPad since it was playing the game :) You can see it's me by the photo and the GameCentre name "Gray81"
For such a simple game (in the vein of endless runner type games), it's quite compelling and really polished. I think it's free too. Give it a try!
That reminds me of the "Scrolls" rubbish between Bethesda and Mojang...
Oh also I wanted to clarify -- "Its not fair to compair 2600 users and flashback users" -- we're not. We are comparing 2600 emulated with 2600 emulated I would never allow a Flashback score to come under "Atari 2600" category; only "Atari 2600 Emulated" category.
Hey great score!!
I think Congslop means that he too gets negative votes, for seemingly no reason We all do unfortunately...
To try hardcore mode, just type "HARDCORE" at the main start screen. It's pretty wild!
This game is like "Flappy Bird" I think, but I never played that. But it's geared towards awesome retro gamers like ourselves and it's pretty hard, but satisfying when you have a good run.
I will put forward my understanding, but I look forward to you providing some evidence because I'm always open to being corrected. Anyway, as far as I know:
Flashback 1 - Nintendo-on-a-chip. Yes they are ports. New programming, completely different from the Atari originals. You only have to look at Flashback 1 on YouTube and you will instantly see that the games are different.
Flashback 2 - Hardware matches original Atari 2600, running original roms. "2600-on-a-chip". Many people have modded this console to add a cartridge slot, after which it perfectly runs almost all 2600 cartridges. Flashback 2 is, for all intents and purposes, the same hardware as a real 2600 (99% anyway, I guess).
Flashback 3 (this is my one) - Not as good as Flashback 2, but pretty close. It's running on an ARM chip. Original Atari controllers and paddles will work on this system.
Flashback 4 - Same as Flashback 3 except has wireless controllers.
As far as I understand, 2/3/4 are EMULATIONS, not PORTS. That means the game code has not been touched in any way. Hence the minor sound glitches in my Flashback 3 - it is emulating the actual game ROM, but just failing to do so at 100% accuracy. Because they are emulated, they should be perfectly acceptable in the emulation category. They are not re-writes or ports of the games at all. Also consider this -- with a Flashback, the player is using a joystick which is extremely close to the original Atari joystick. With Stella emulation, they can use keyboard (unfair advantage), mouse (unfair advantage), or a USB joystick with auto-fire (unfair advantage). But we still allow Stella scores
So I would contend that Flashback 2, 3, 4 are all acceptable, but not the Flashback 1. I look forward to further discussion
Cool no problem! I think it's fine but because it doesn't say "MAME" category, some people will vote no. I don't want you to get a bad Legit rating
Amazing score, but more amazing is the teeth on that Pac Man .... Creepy man!!
Hey let me ask you -- what's the deal with those yellow diamonds that appear when you kill cars? Is it possible to colelct them? The manual says to collect them ... But how?!? They flash past so fast
Almost impossible to see the score -- too small
I notice there is no MAME category for this game. Can I suggest you contact Serious and ask him to add one? You can use Twitter (@seriousatari I think). You will probably get negative votes for this score unfortunately.
Wow, having difficulty bumping up my score on this game ...
Rapidly becoming one of my favourite games
My riposte, good sir.
Always best to hold up a scrap of paper with your name on it, especially for games without initials on the scores. Just for future reference. I voted yes anyway.
Yep looks like only 8-way, so that saves me buying another controller By the way I enjoyed your video and subbed -- that intro is THE CREEPIEST thing I've ever seen! That song always gets me (first heard it in Insidious)
"I'll just have a quck game of Missile Command ....." ....... <45 minutes later>
Well, emulated, the screen-scrolling didn't bother me at all! In any case, I got the GBA fever last night and when I woke up this morning, I remembered I had ordered one from eBay! With Namco Classic Arcade. Now to search out this Konami cart.... <rubs hands together like a crazy man>
I have never been so happy to see the GAME OVER screen! This is a good representation of Missile Command, but boy does it drag on! ... Give me the action-packed Atari 2600 version over this any day.
My first exposure to Scramble was the Vectrex version (emulated) ... This version reminds me of old DOS games with their EGA graphics
What a pleasure to play! If I pick up a GBA I'll definitely search out this cartridge.
Sorry about the bad image! Not sure why it's not very clear.
I don't really enjoy Galaga on MAME, but for some reason I had fun playing the GBA version.....
Probably LCD rather than LED now that I think about it
I've never seen these games in the flesh, so I was surprised by how well this one plays! It includes so much from the arcade game, in LED format (or whatever format this is). Amazing! Now I will have to check out the other Coleco tabletops ...
Got up to screen 3. The trick seems to be eating ghosts and fruit, for the big points...
Plays well on the 2600 doesn't it! Any kid would have been happy to own this back in the 80s.
Played with a Classic Controller (twin sticks). Played on first planet of Galaxies mode ("Trainer E15"), since no level is specified for this score
Question - does your classic controller shoot in any direction, or just 8 directions? I have a cheap, 3rd party controller, and I'm wondering if an original Nintendo controller will give more directions/control?
Yeah that would suck! I'll be using the classic controller for it.
Yeah I tried a different order but I find every planet equally brutal on the 2nd map haha!
Yeah 3,270 :) I'll skip this one.
Not loving the mouse and keyboard to be honest.... I'm looking forward to playing G.Wars next week on my Wii with twin-sticks!
I'll probably buy all of the Bit.Trip games that are on the Wii Shop ... My kind of game! Easy to pick up but totally absorbing.
Ah you have beaten my score! OK, challenge accepted!
Played on iPad 2 (MAME4iOS) with iCade joystick. 1 credit, no continues, default dip switches ("normal" difficulty). I included a shot of the ending sequence (Ken) and the ROM (xmvsf). I played with Ryu and Ken (boring choice I know!). I like this game way more than any other SF2 game, for some reason. I love the style of the art, the super-high jumping, the over-the-top special moves .... Everything! I'm not very good, but it's a fun game.
Ohhhhh great score ... I don't think I can beat this, but I'm gonna try!
I tried the demo and wasn't really sold, so I'm not sure why I bought this game. But after I got a feel for the controls, it suddenly became fun I will be playing this again in the future. The only problem is the visuals make my eyes tired after a couple of runs. Too much flashing and fast-moving dots to keep track of.
Ahhh! Every time I see one of your scores, I want to buy one of those joysticks! I'm trying to save money ........ but it looks so cool!
Any chance you could stick a little name tag to the bottom of your TV screen, for future shots? I'm still voting yes though.
Now THIS game I like much better than Galaga or Galaxian (oh, how dare he say that?!) It's fast and frantic, which I love.
You know, I almost prefer the Atari 2600 version of Galaxian .....
I'm aware this score is absolutely awful
Sounds like you had a great time! Congrats on doing so well!
Oh my goodness, CRT ... It's so beautiful! I'm living in an LED hell right now
I have this coming from eBay so in a couple of weeks I'll be posting a score Can't wait to play it.
You have a great collection of 2600 carts!
First time playing Paint mode -- really fun! I'm looking forward to improving this score in the future. Actually this Paint mode has more of a retro-arcade feel than the supposed "original frogger mode"! This could easily be gameplay from the 1980's with modern graphics.
I'm seeing a 1 million score, not 575k .... ?
This is a poor score even for me! So I wasn't going to bother and I thought, "Hold on a minute Gray! HighScore.com needs us to populate those scoreboards! We don't want just 1 or 2 really high scores and then nobody else even trying!" So I've decided to post some scores that I know I can improve down the track.
Looks fine to me! (apart from the awful colour haha)
The font used in the 2nd picture is BAD. The zeros have lines through them. You can see an 8 in the second score, which is 40,840. No idea why this wasn't noticed before game release.
Is this a game from the Wii Shop channel?
Wow that's a very solid score!
Hey that's a nice score! I remember playing this for the HSC and not really liking it.
What's the deal with this hack? Just changed the colours?
I took a break from trying to crack 200 on Wii Bowling ...
This is played on Flashback 3, and it's game 1 (curve balls), difficulty B (easy).
OUYA!! Brilliant! I have space for 1 more console and couldn't choose one - let me look into the Ouya
I recently bought Typing of the Dead: Overkill, so maybe my WPM has improved
Does the score roll over to 0 after 9,999? Did you use any glitches for this score, or just play normally? Any tips to share?
I've never played bomberman games so I have no idea how impressive this score is, but A+ for explaining HOW you got the score! Always nice to read some comments along the way
Not picking on you but why don't you retract this score and re-submit it under virtual console? Save yourself the negative votes
Wait, did you play this on Wii?
This is smart - you're going to get insane points from all the first/world/state/city trophys on this game!
I agree! That's why I've asked and I've asked before when I don't understand a score.
Is this 1 second to kill 5 enemies? I've never played this. Also I would recommend getting a slip of paper with your name in future photos, just to be safer :)
There is a thin strip of picture, I can make out your name but nothing else. If I was you I'd take this score down before you get a load of negative votes. Maybe try to fix up the picture or enlarge it, and resubmit.
What is the name of that amazing joystick and where can I buy one? Please post onto my profile, if you don't mind! Thanks.
I'd love to see some discussion on this type of score. My problem with this sort of thing is that it spoils the game from then on. I mean, where's the motivation to play for a top score when this has already happened? OK that's not MatthewFelix's problem, I know, but was this score obtained during "normal" game play? It's not like he cheated, but, it's not really in the spirit of the game IMO... Also it's worth noting that this is not the same as rolling a game -- for instance, Oyamafamily rolling an Atari 2600 game is no problem since he's playing in a normal fashion, until the score ticks over. It's completely in the spirit of the game. But this Mario score (and the Sonic&Knuckles one), I don't know, it feels different. Just playing for points ... I wonder if Serious can jump in with a ruling on point-pressing for us? Is it allowed? (And to MatthewFelix, I don't mean to offend you. These are amazing scores and I'm not saying you cheated! It's the point-pressing issue that bothers me.)
Oh wow good score! Time for me to riposte, my friend!
Wow a control pad for Millipede! That's different. Obviously works well though
Yay, somebody posting Wii sports scores! Good on you!
Should this not be 13?
Forgive me, I have hardly ever played Sonic & Knuckles (although I have it) -- how many lives do you have in this shot? 51? And why is the time 9:59? Just paint a picture for those of us who aren't familiar with the game. Was this done with some type of "exploit", or point pressing?
(Just for my own curiosity that's all ) :)
What did you use, joystick, keys, trackball or mouse?
Multiple NO votes on my Wii scores, how strange. If I was going to fake a score, why would I make it so low? The photos have a sticky with my name, plus the Mii face looks exactly like my profile picture ... I mean, it's not rocket science guys
Haha cool. Yeah I'm sort of in no-man's land right now with this Wii .... It's too old to be relevant, but not old enough to be retro. But hey, it's all about the games, man! Just grabbed the House of the Deads today and something called "Super Smash Brothers Brawl", but I have no idea what's going on in that game ...
That font they used is really hard to read ...
No there were several, from $150 up to $200, and that is spread over 2 shops also. I guess they check what they're selling for on eBay, add a bit extra, and sticker them. Because Perth (Australia) is fairly isolated, sometimes it's easier to pay extra in a shop, than pay and wait for shipping from a proper city No chance I'm paying more than $50 for one anyway so good luck to them.
Not sure why some of my hits count as misses even though the ball bounces off my bat. What kind of wacky sport is this "baseball" anyway? Is the Wii controller not up to the task, or do I just suck?
Lots of room for improvement here. It just doesn't feel accurate enough. Oh well.
439 meters = 1,440 feet. Because it's listed as "feet" on this website, I converted it. If that is wrong just let me know. Maybe the game uses meters because I'm in Australia ...
I enjoyed this Target Practice more than the actual Golf game. It's pretty simplistic but when you compensate for the wind just right and land a 100 point ball, it feels nice
I guess this is a pre-cursor to Wii Fit (which I haven't bought yet). I don't see how this "fitness age" could be anything other than a composit of your scores in the various mini games. But as a measure of progress in the games, I guess it works.
I just bought my first Wii. Thought I'd better catch up with the modern kids haha. Now, I know LOTS of you have a Wii with Wii Sports, so come on and post some scores! Let's get some competition going
Oh man this game brings back some memories! I wish I had kept my N64 consoles over the years -- I saw them last week for $199 in a 2nd hand shop. I bought a Wii instead for $25. I know it's based on demand, but $200 for an N64?! They can't be that rare, surely ...
Ha, I had to look up this game on YouTube, I didn't know it existed. Nice music on it :)
Wow good score! And on a tiny gameboy too! I'm impressed.
It's a lot of fun! Definitely one of my most-played Xbox games.
The bottom score (15 stage continuous).
I'm not particularly good with Tetris but my wife loves it so it's good to have available.
Yeah let's have more info please It's a great score.
Woah woah woah there sunshine, double check that time! That's 1 second you're not getting away with!! Hahaha
Fantastic score on a great game!
Haha fantastic! I love it. If you play the arcade version right after the 2600 version, the arcade version feels like the most fast, smooth, beautiful game ever
When I had my Flashback at my mate's place last week, this was by far the most fun game. We all loved it. This, and Surround. Surround is the forerunner to "snake" on the old Nokia phones (or Nibbles.bas haha) -- loads of fun for 2 players!
So the category is "Arcade emulated / MAME" and they vote no? Ridiculous!
They should just ignore emulated scores then, instead of voting NO. Not everybody has access to actual arcade machines! If it wasn't for MAME and emulation, I would have very little to play!
Played on Atari Flashback 3, game 1, difficulty B (fast player missiles).
I was up over 160k earlier when the game reset itself so this score will do for now ...
You are quite right! I'm not really familiar with this game so the difference escaped my notice. I will ask Serious if he can move it for me. Thanks.
I feel like I'm in that movie, "High Score", hahaha!
I just passed 160k and the Flashback 3 reset the game. Unbelieveable.
Oh River Raid 2, I must put some time into this game. Good score.
We heard you the first 2 times ... Just kidding
Wow, big score! Great work!
I think you short changed yourself with a typo here my friend
Yes this is a Flashback 3. It's not perfect emulation, that's for sure (most noticably the sound effects stutter in some games). I really wish I could get a real 2600 but it's not an option in my city. And Flashback 2 or 4 would have been better but again, I couldn't find them at a reasonable price here.
Haha, well ... I use the term loosely.
These tabletop games can be EMULATED??
All default settings (that means normal speed, not turbo, booooo!)
B difficulty. Does anybody know what the difficulty switch changes on this game?
I wish the Flashback 3 had this included. I prefer it to Centipede - more hectic!
Played on MAME.
Oh cool :) I would never have found that. Because I will probably never play this game again :)
I'm not setting any world records on this game! Hahaha. But I thought I'd better get a score posted anyway.
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) This game ROCKS! Easily my most-played 2600 game so far. I won't stop until I crack 300k, but this 104k score has been my PB for a few months now so I thought I'd post it up.
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) I now have Battlezone on my Flashback. I know Battlezone is technically the superior game, but I just prefer Robot Tank. I love the day/night cycle, the weather, and the way you can take damage to parts of your tank. This is a very cool game!
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) What can you say about River Raid ... Great game.
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) Ahh Plaque Attack -- another game from my childhood! I think this was the first cartridge I bought from the shop with my own pocket money! These days I'd rather play Space Invaders or Demon Attack, but back then I played the heck out of this game!
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) Sorry I double posted a photo here.
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) This is a really good game, but it's just not my style of game. Memorising the screens and the route to take over repeated playthroughs ... Meh.
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) You can see Game 4 in the first photo. Grand Prix was more fun when I was a kid with some imagination ("Hey I'm driving a race car!!!") but it's not actually much fun now :)
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) Not crazy about this game ... It's fun for 1 turn but I've never played it twice in a row :)
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) Dolphin - ugh! I really tried to like this game; it has an interesting concept with the sound telling you where to move on the screen. But it just frustrated me
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) Demon Attack! Good fun! It's simple but it has that pure arcade gameplay. And I love the sound effects too.
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) This game gets silly-fast. You can see a video on this site, I think it was Oyamafamily, where it just gets insane!
(I am uploading some of my Activision scores which I play using iPad/iCade; not very high scores but my personal bests anyway) Beamrider (difficulty B) -- this one is fun to play in a comptely dark room! The flashing is awesome. Lots of room for improvement with this score ...
Atari 2600's aren't exactly falling from the trees here in Perth, Australia They can be expensive so I went for the Flashback option for now.
Nice score. Tough little game this one! Plays brilliantly though on the Atari IMO.
This is game #1, difficulty switches in the "A" (expert) position (as you can see the buttons are extended in the pic, which means "A"). This slows down the speed of your own missiles. It's not a big deal on the earlier screens, but as the missiles start raining down more quickly, it becomes very difficult to aim low enough to hit them. I mean you almost have to aim at the bottom of the screen, to hit missiles that only just entered at the top Would be easier with another game mode that has fast cursor control (game 1 is slow cursor movement). Oh well. I'm pleased with this score.
Wow do you have a machine? Or did you play on site somewhere?
Although I don't know this game myself, I guess there are always going to be games where it's easy to "cheat" a score, if you know what I mean (farming, using more than 1 credit, difficulty settings, etc.) And not everybody is able to make video (I'm not). I think that's where the User Legit Rating comes in handy -- it's pretty obvious that somebody with lots of scores and a high legit rating wouldn't fake the odd random score
This is a lot better than Video Pinball
Sorry to resubmit a Centipede score, but I had a great game tonight :) Everything seemed to be walking right into my shots!
The game will end by itself after a certain number of bugs fly away. They fly away when it takes you too long to catch them. This game isn't exactly fun to be honest. It's slightly better with 2 players, but not really for adults.
Haha yeah it's not so bad I guess.... If I had the option of playing Space Rocks, though, then Asteroids would never get played :)
Game 16 (no extra lives, fast asteroids, shields) with difficulty A (UFOs enabled) played on Atari Flashback 3. Not sure why the left edge of the screen is cut off.
Picked up a small LCD to play Atari (instead of my massive old plasma). Expect future improvements for my Atari scores!
Might be a while before I can break 20k on this game. The screens get really tricky to navigate around without crashing, let alone while trying to blast the bunkers! Rest assured this will get a few plays every time I turn on my Flashback though. (This is game 1, with B difficulty)
Played on Flashback 3.
Pic is fine for me.
^ Everything you say is correct It's all about staying on the throttle ... The problem I have is hitting the damn balloons, they ALWAYS seem to mess up my turns. Anyway nice score; I'll keep practicing until I can take you down my friend
^^ After some research, I have decidede that .... I need to practice more :) This score is FAR from the best possible score for Game 4. I will keep working on it.
Can you believe I'd never heard of this game before? I have since learned it's based on a vector arcade machine. Just tonight I played Gravitar for the first time and instantly fell in love with it. The sounds are great and the game play is pure! Elements of Lunar Lander mixed with shooting and collecting fuel. I love how my first game was die-die-die by slamming into planets, but after 4 or 5 games I'm already starting to thread through caverns in galaxy 2 like a pro. Excellent game! Expect some great scores from me in the future
Nice. I just got my Atari Flashback today and ran through most of the games -- It's a poor selection in my opinion (Activision games are sorely missed) but I instantly fell in love with Gravitar! The sound effects are pure retro; just beautiful! You can expect some competition with this game from me
Yeah the screenshots always make me want one too! Lovely chunky graphics.
Wow, you beat my score by 12 seconds!??! This *is* game 4, right? With 99 pylons? Is there some trick here that you could send me? E-mail if you like, graywebster . at . gmail.com ... I will hold off on voting here, because my run of 2min 27secs was pretty damn close to a perfect run if I remember correctly (ie. no crashes, almost all turns were cut close to the object). So unless emulation runs slower than the real hardware, I can't imagine how you did this! I would love to chat about your score if you don't mind e-mailing me :)
Before you vote NO -- this is the official Activision Anthology app, running on my unjailbroken iPad 2. I use the iCade bluetooth controller. I got this score many months ago so I don't have a screenshot of the actual game screen. But I have been #1 on this leaderboard ever since. I am very proud of this time; it took me several sessions of gameplay to get the course nailed and squeeze it down to the last milliseconds, just hitting RESET every time I crashed. Searching for the perfect run :) Although this time COULD be beaten, I'm sure. Anyway, since Activision Anthology is allowed under Emulation catagory, I hope you will vote YES even though I don't have a photo of the game screen. (I play on B difficulty (easy)). Also note the photo is the same photo of me I use everywhere.
Felt like a good game until the 3rd screen - I was confused about which number was my lives, and which was my pepper! Hahaha. So I tried to pepper some cheeky hotdogs and got killed instead
Right, 10k it is then! Challenge accepted
That seems to happen sometimes if you take a picture with an iPhone or iPad.
Hmm what't the go with this score? Is "Turbo" or "Normal" the default setting? Just wondering, as the description says game to be played "on default settings" ... Turbo is much easier, right? (answer to my profile if you don't mind) I'll refrain from voting for now.
I'm drooling :)
Getting some NO votes here. This is quite clearly the official Atari app, running on an iPad 2 with the iCade controller. It qualifies under "emulation" so if you want to vote NO, maybe at least post and tell us why. Cheers :)
Yes BB is completely boring. AA is ALMOST as boring because you still never seem to run out of lives. In future I will play harder varietys, like no extra lives, fast asteroids .... Just for fun, not to post on here.
The arcade version was the very first video game I played. I must have been 5 or 6. I was sitting on Dad's knees and he did the pedals, I did the wheel. Epic memory.
As you can see, this is running in Game 1, with both difficulty switches set to "A" (expert). On the B setting, this game is very easy to roll (but boring). The "A" setting adds the UFOs and satellites, which sometimes take one of my lives, but reward you with points too (which results in bonus lives!). My concentration slipped towards the end, otherwise I could have easily rolled the score. I think this game would be more fun and challenging in one of the "no extra lives" game modes!
This game is surprisingly playable! If I had had this cartridge back in the day, I would have been chuffed playing it!
