this score can be valid also for real SNES and WII virtual console (I guess)

The power up looked like it appears while the game is paused, is that right?

it can appear without pause, but it can appear when doing pause also, so, on order not to take risks of time-up, I paused, after all the time the power up does take to appear is not fixed

I discovered this hint by accident when I paused in this particular level, I went to dinner and when I came back, I was surprised to find a new powerup I never seen before ;)

Hmm, interesting. I guess I'll vote yes

Aren't we concerned about tactics here? I'm not suggesting that derek has cheated (he hasn't), but I imagine someone that has earned a non-bug-induced record (in this case @bubufubu) would feel a bit disappointed that all of their hard work was for nought.

I've noticed other games have "Any Tactics" variants on the site. This would seem a good candidate?

I really don't know if I should be voting yes or no on this particular example. So I'm skipping right now

all world record have been accomplished after several efforts, but one day, a record may be broken, asily or not

this power up is not a bug, it does exist in the game, just check any online walkthrough

in this case, we can say that knowledge and experience has won it over hard work, this score will someday by beaten by the combination of both :)

That's as well said as I can imagine, and indeed earned a Yes vote from me.

"this score can be valid also for real SNES and WII virtual console (I guess)"

That's the only statement that has me scratching me head. I'm sure you know that you can only submit a score for whatever machine or method of play that you actually used to get that score -a game played on emulation cannot be used for a submission on SNES hardware, for example. Unless you simply mean that this scoring tactic exists in all versions of the game, which would more or less stand to reason since the base ROM is the same.

yes I meant the tactic, (PS before adopting emulators, I had a real SNES and I had played bomberman and got better scores at the time )
