Deym thought I went pretty well, then notice I only came in second on this site ! laugh

I wonder how Centauron got his 68270 on level 6 . I was only half his score on the same level. Probably milking trophies, but still.. Too bad there isn't any gameplay footage to take a peek at cheeky

Anyways, was having some audio issues while recording.
The 2nd last attempt starting at 0:35 was later on. I pulled out some footage because of trying to fix the audio issue. Because of fiddling around, all the gameplay footage from 0:35 onward isn't high quality anymore, because I had fooled around with the recording settings frown

The final run starting at 4:30 was a good one, so I still had to post it. Cramped up my left hand in the process. Oil's Well is intense stuff when playing hehe

BGM:
0:35 Easily Embarrassed - Sequence (EE4A)
4:04 Easily Embarrassed - Captain Bastian (EE4B)
8:10 Easily Embarrassed - The Capital (EE4B)

Voted yes.

Assuming that the C64 version plays the same way as the Colecovision version, then my advice to you would be to grab the blue things as often as you can and wait for the timer to nearly run out before completing the level.  On the Colecovision, those are worth about 2,000 points apiece.  If you can grab enough of them, you can get 10,000 or more points per level (an extra life every 10,000 points).  One thing to remember is that you cannot carry more than four extra lives, so let that play into your decision-making when you're nearing the next 10,000.

Everything said above is based on the assumption that the C64 game plays the same way the Colecovision port does.  My best run ever on the Colecovision was 199,400 points; unfortunately, I took no video or photographic proof of it.  I do, however, have photographic proof of a run where I had over 171,000 pts and I have a video on my Youtube channel where I had over 144,000 points.  Here is the 144,000-point run.

Watching your video now, I see you quickly eat the first level as fast as you could.  If you want to gather up a lot more points per level, then wait for the timer to nearly run out before you finish the level.  Also, you should leave one pellet at the top (where it's easy to grab) as the final pellet.  On the more difficult levels, it would be a pain to have the final pellet be down near the bottom where you have to maneuver amongst the enemies.  If your final pellet is all the way at the start of the level, then it takes very little effort to go grab that once the timer is about to run out.

In re-watching my video, I see that the blue trophies are only 1,000 points apiece in Colecovision; nevertheless, they're still darn valuable in helping you achieve high scores.  If you're beating every level as quickly as you can, you're missing a handful of those per level!

@DuggerVideoGames:

Thanks for the advice Dugger!
Will try a new run after I've dealt with the weird audio stuttering issue smiley

Cheers!
