Tried again after receiving a hint on my previous run. Was told by DuggerVideoGames to wait out my oil timer and collect as many flashing trophies as possible. Should have seen that before! More than doubled the score now. /joy laugh

Go Pro went low bat sadly so only have the video is split screen. It's always something with this game. Previous run the audio would randomly stutter. Now my Go Pro fails to capture it all. Oh well... Or should I say Oil well.... The highscore run starts at 8:50

Glad to see you did a new run!  I was wondering about you and waiting for you to upload a new one.  Congrats on the great improvement!

Voting yes on your improved score right now.  I was glad to see after watching the first level that you not only grabbed as many trophies as you could, but also saved the final pellet at the top where it's easy to grab it when your timer is low.  I hope you didn't make a habit of waiting until there was 1 second left, however.  Sometimes you need a few extra seconds because the explosion will slowly crawl across the screen at the last second sometimes and rob you of a chance to grab the pellet.  I hate when that thing crawls in the top row, especially when the timer's about to run out!  Wait as long as you can, but give yourself a few seconds to spare.

Congratulations again.  Very happy for you.  I hope it made the game more enjoyable!

Finished watching the video.  Good for you, man!  You did great this time.  A few of the lives lost were in stupid ways, but that happens to all of us (even in my best runs, I do a few stupid things).

The first life you lost on level 7 was just bad luck, though.  Nothing you could do about that.  You improved greatly and played much better this time.  When you get that super pellet that slows everything down, you need to get the hard-to-reach pellets out of the way as quickly as possible.  You don't want to have to deal with the difficulty of getting those when the enemies are back to regular speed.  It makes the levels a lot easier.

Thanks for all the great feedback man! Much appreciated and couldn't have pulled this run off if it wasn't for your input yes

Btw, scouted your evidence submissions for any video, but only found some nice pics with Pacman Amiibo sitting there around hehe. So cool. I had him around as a mascot with my old setup too : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tupoigLvvyc .. Now I want to put him back there cheeky

You won't see Oil's Well video on my profile because back then, I only took pics.  My best run was 199,400 points about a year ago, but I wasn't a member of this site yet, so I took no pics and no video.  Since becoming a member of this site, my best was more than 171,000 and I took pics.

Recently, I took video of my Oil's Well play for the first time because I'm participating in the Colecovision High Scores Club at the website Atari Age.  Although this video is nowhere near my best run, it's still a darn good run.  Here's the video if you want to see it.
