Yeah, those modern controllers are bad for many retro games. Arcade sticks are good but I had found this one inexpensive joypad that works great with old games The D-pad is 4 individual buttons so theres no incidental squating down, works great with pac mans also, which is damn near impossible with X-box controller :)
@derek:
How much is that? A new retro controller doesn't sound like a bad idea at all.
@Mara:
I got it for 12$ off the shelf at frys electronics in Austin Texas. I don't emulate that often except for mame (I use an xarcade for that) so I can't really say how long it will hold up, but it does work well so far @derek Looking good, I'll consider buying it. Never bought stuff from Amazon so I have no idea if shipping is super expensive to Finland. @ichigokurosaki1991 Yeah, I wanted to play some video games. great evidence, as always! my favorite PC controller is the Saitek P220: https://www.amazon.com/Saitek-102323-P220-Digital-Pad/dp/B000075B5U there's one with analog sticks, the P880: https://www.amazon.com/Saitek-J61-P880_Dual-Analog-Pad/dp/B00006RZ1G i'm not a fan of the xbox controller for retro games but I also don't like the 4-button pad. the Saitek controllers work great I think. Voted Yes! LOL, I can only imagine your imprecations when you've lost, I could only see your hand... :-D |
Decided to submit a score since it's been a while since the previous one. Because I don't have any better controllers, I had to use Xbox 360 controller for this but it turned out to be pretty horrible experience. There were some parts in the run (2-1 and 2-4 for example) where I wanted to crouch but the controller registered left button as well for some reason.
Man, I really need a new controller for retro stuff. Well, at least I beat my own score.
