The biggest difference I see between the two of them is the presence of enemies. In the first Arkanoid you don't need to worry about them but on the other hand, in Batty they are a constant nuisance.

Despite those pesky b***s, for me this game seems a bit funnier to play somehow

I don't think i've played Batty. Wasnt it only available on some Elite compilation.
